SUDURPASCHIM, June 18: Sudurpaschim provincial government has announced to provide interest-free loans to the farmers to promote commercial farming.

BALEWA, Dec 11: A Cooperatives at Kushmishera of Jaimini Municipality-1 in Baglung district has spearheaded a campaign to protect the seedlings of quinoa and promote its commercial farming in the district.

KAILALI, Jan 8: Winter rains and cold waves, as well as the outbreak of Dadhuwa disease (blight), have damaged potato crop in Kailali and Kanchanpur district.

DHADING, July 25: Commercial tea farming has begun in Dhading district for the first time. Local farmers have started cultivating tea in Ward 9 of Nilkantha Rural Municipality.

SURKHET, March 11: Gumi village in eastern Surkhet was popular as 'Lahure Basti' in the past as most of the village youths were working for the Indian Army. Well-off families soon migrated to urban areas, leaving fertile land barren.

KATHMANDU, Dec 12: The government has set aside Rs 160 million for the promotion of commercial farming of fruits and lime.
