DANG, April 27: Five people including two foreigners were arrested from Ghorahi on Wednesday on the charge of illegally promoting Christianity. American citizen Cinquanta Oleana May, Indian citizen Gaurav Shrivastav and Nepali citizens Dilli Ram Paudel, Kunsang Tamang and Pramod Kafle were arrested by the police along with promotional materials such as a carton full of bibles.

The faithful in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus are marking 1030 years since their ancestors adopted Christianity – the faith that would ultimately become Orthodoxy, made unique by ten centuries of divergence from Western branches.

TIKAPUR, May 15: Ramesh Badi of Lamkichuha Municipality – 3 was extremely worried about his son’s health. Doctors had declared that his son suffered from brain tumor and that his family might not able to afford his treatment. Promoting Christianity in jail

SURKHET, May 10: Six years ago, a few Christians from Anugraha Church at Birendranagar Municipality-1 reached the District Prison Surkhet to extend their helping hands . Though they had gone there for providing some food to the prisoners, they have since used the prison as a center for promoting Christianity. They have been successful in doing so and have added hundreds of followers.

DANG, Dec 14: A growing influence of Christianity has been noticed in the Tharu communities of Dang district since 2005. This has Tharu community leaders deeply concerned, saying their culture and rituals are at risk of extinction.
