In a significant move towards a sustainable and eco-friendly future, the government has recently made a groundbreaking decision that mandates gasoline stations receiving new operating licenses to include Electric Vehicle (EV) charging units on their premises. This commendable move, backed by the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation (MoEWRI), is poised to revolutionize the transportation sector and contribute to the reduction in reliance on fossil fuel.

KATHMANDU, Jan 4: The gasoline stations will now have to maintain charging ports for electric vehicles mandatorily in order to operate their businesses. According to the new provision introduced by the government, the existing fuel stations will have to install charging units while renewing their license while the new stations will have to abide by the rule while acquiring their license.
