KATHMANDU, Nov 29: The Nepal Police and Police Adjustment Act has not been implemented even four years after being approved by parliament. Although the Police Adjustment Act was approved by the President on February 11, 2020, it has been pending due to the central government's reluctance to implement it. The home ministers of the seven provinces have now come to Kathmandu “to plead with the central government” to implement the Police Adjustment Act. However, the possibility of immediate implementation appears low.

KATHMANDU, April 22: The central government is allocating a total of Rs 152.51 billion in fiscal equalization grants to the sub-national governments in the budget of 2021/22.

DANG, April 1: Many local units in Dang have been charged with disregarding the central government's instructions regarding the usage of machinery for local projects.

KATHMANDU, Sept 19: Minister for Finance Yuba Raj Khatiwada has said that the central government is going to be under ‘double stress’ as the central government has to devolve resources as conditional grants for implementation of some projects but local level governments are not willing to construct them.
