NAWALPUR, Jan 10: Two new species of birds have been spotted in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat, East of Susta) during the ongoing water bird census. The water bird census that started on January 1 will continue till January 16.

KANCHANPUR, Jan 2: Water birds census has been started from Saturday in Shuklaphanta National Park and other areas. The census is being conducted in the lakes and rivers inside and outside the park. The counting will continue till January 16.

KATHMANDU, Nov 17: The Kayat community of Baglung, which has no identity, has announced that it will not participate in the census. The Kayat community has decided not to be included in the census 2021 saying that the state has ignored them without giving them their identity. They have complained that the community has been deprived of all services due to lack of identity.

Unveiling the National Rhino Census of 2021, the secretary for the Ministry of Forest and Environment, Dr Bishwanath Oli announced that the number of rhinos inside the country has reached 752. KATHMANDU, Feb 24: Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) has started National Economic Census 2018, on Friday. The census will be conducted by counting all enterprises and economic activities across the country, said Suman Raj Aryal, director general of CBS. This census will also measure the contribution of those activities to the economy.

MAHENDRANAGAR, Feb 13: The count of tiger population has started in Shuklaphanta National Park (SNP) of Kanchanpur district through 'camera trapping' method.  According to Gopal Bahadur Ghimire, chief conservation officer and information officer of SNP, a two-day training was held before the officially launch of the tiger census in the national park. He informed that the census will be taken in Shuklaphanta-Laljhadi-Jogbudha corridor which is considered as the buffer zone.

CHITWAN, Nov 30: The census of rare Royal Bengal tiger will start today in both Nepal and India simultaneously. The same camera trapping method will be used in the census wherein cameras traps are laid along the tiger's path wherein to capture their images as they move, said the Department of National Park and Wildlife Conservation.

CHITWAN, Oct 2: Nepal and India are going to conduct a joint head count of tigers in the national parks, forests and sanctuaries in Nepal and those in India adjoining Nepal using the same camera tapping method.
