KATHMANDU, Sept 17: The three-member probe commission formed to address the problem of loan-sharking has filed a case related to unfair transactions against 55 loan sharks from seven districts of Terai. The commission was formed by the government in April to deal with the issue of unfair transactions, i.e. loan-sharking. On July 28, the Criminal Code was amended by declaring unfair transactions as a criminal offense.

BIRENDRANAGAR, July 11: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a case against eight people including a chief administrative officer (CAO). The case has been filed at the Special Court against CAO Bishnu Bahadur Shahi of Chankheli Rural Municipality of Humla.

A case has been filed against actor Karanvir Bohra and 5 people for allegedly cheating a 40-yr-old woman of Rs. 1.99 crores. According to reports by ANI, the woman claimed only an amount of Rs 1 crore was returned.

KATHMANDU, July 15: The Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI) has filed cases against six firms on the charge of revenue leakage. The firms were found to have been involved in using fake Value Added Tax (VAT) bills and smuggling of the goods to evade the taxes worth Rs 4.18 billion.
