RPP concludes candidacies for polls

KATHMANDU, Oct 7: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has concluded candidacies for the November 20 elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) and the provincial assemblies.

KATHMANDU, Oct 3: The Election Commission (EC) has fixed today as the deadline to withdraw the candidacies of those named in the proportional closed list.The time for submitting the revised list was fixed till yesterday.

KANCHANPUR, Nov 9: Two candidates, who had filed their rebel candidacies from the leftists' alliance, came back from their move in a way to support the official candidates of the party.

RAMECHHAP, Oct 26: Rebel candidates of leftist alliance in Ramechhap district chartered a helicopter from Kathmandu to Ramechhap's district headquarters Manthali on Wednesday to withdraw their candidacies after reaching agreement with their party.

KATHMANDU, Oct 16: It’s 8:30 pm Sunday. Three election officials are waiting at the Election Commission (EC) headquarters in the capital to register the name-lists of the parties’ candidates contesting the upcoming provincial and parliamentary polls under the Proportional Representation (PR) category from Province 6. When asked about the progress made in the job, an official who wished to stay anonymous saying that he is not authorized to speak to the media, said only three parties had submitted their PR candidate lists by then.

KATHMANDU, Sept 6:Candidacy nomination for the third round of local elections is taking place on Wednesday. The Election Commission (EC), which has already conducted local polls in six of the seven provinces in two phases, is holding the final round of elections in Province 2 on September 18.

NEPALGUNJ, May 9: Dozens of leaders from Nepali Congress (NC) were willing to contest for the mayoral post of Chaurjahari Municipality of Rukum district. But the party gave ticket to Balbir Gosain, a lesser-known retired bank official.
