SYANGJA, March 21: Waling is nestled among the beautiful hills of Syangja district where the river Aandhikhola crisscrosses. The breathtaking Machhapuchhre mountain watches the place from a distance, and the nearby Khadadevi Bahunthan seems eager to just embrace it. The place got its name from the farmers who used to sing folklores during rice plantation. The name for the farmers’ song -- Waligeet -- evolved over the years to give a name to the place, Waling.

Tistung calling

It is quite an achievement to get out of a busy life in Kathmandu. I grabbed the opportunity immediately when it knocked after the recently held elections. I along with my friends reached Tistung, after traveling 65 km via road from Kathmandu. We rested for a while at the Om Adhyay Resort. As we reached the resort in the evening, we were impressed by the palace-like architecture and bonfire there.

KATHMANDU, Jan 1:  A sit-in has been organized near the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar Monday, demanding Dhankuta be made as the capital of Province No 1.

Recently, Line, a play based on Israel Horovitz’s one-act play of the same name, was up at Shilpee Theater in Battisputali, Kathmandu. The play ran for three weeks. The incongruous drama’s entire plot showcases five people waiting in line for an event. The play starring Rajkumar Pudasaini, Sudam CK, Loonibha Tuladhar, Sandesh Shakya, and Saroj Aryal was directed and translated into Nepali by Akanchha Karki, who is a theater artist and a psychologist as well.

Teachers are in the business of creating new ideas. They must develop ideas that the system can adopt

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 19: Thousands of anti-government protesters marched in Malaysia's capital on Saturday demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Najib Razak over his alleged involvement in a multi-billion dollar misappropriation scandal.

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov 16: One of the world’s most popular means of communication, Facebook's (FB.O) WhatsApp, is adding fully encrypted video calling to its messaging app on Monday, a move that comes as privacy advocates worry about the potential for stepped-up government surveillance under a Trump administration.

Like FaceTime for iPhones, Duo only requires a person's phone number to connect. Many other services require both participants to have account logins to use their video calling options.
