KATHMANDU, Jan 26: British Army Lieutenant General and Colonel Commandant Brigade of Gurkhas, Richard Wardlaw OBE presented an annual report of the Brigade for the year 2023 to President Ramchandra Paudel on Friday.

LONDON, April 30: The Gurkhas have objected to the loss of millions of rupees to Nepal as the pensions of the former Gurkhas in the UK are still being deposited in the Reserve Bank of India.

Nepal-UK relations go back to centuries and the UK remains Nepal’s one of the largest donors and development partners. At the same time, the British Gurkhas have often expressed grievances against the UK government over pension issue. Why does the issue remain unresolved? KATHMANDU, July 2: The British Gurkha Satyagraha United Struggle Committee (BGSUTC) UK-Nepal which has been staging protest demanding pay parity for serving British Gurkha soldiers and pensioners with their British counterparts has decided to postpone its protests.
