This section of the highway is in the process of expansion and improvement. There are 27 bridges along this section at present.

JHAPA, Feb 28: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today inaugurated four motorable bridges that link Damak to other local units of Jhapa district.

RASUWA, Feb 27: A total of 32 bridges will be constructed along the Galchhi-Syafru road section connecting Rasuwagadhi, an international trade gateway with China. The bridges will be completed within a year and a half. Currently, work is underway to upgrade the road from Galchhi to Syafru through Mailung including bridge construction.
