16 border pillars missing in Banke

RANJHA (Banke), April 13: As many as sixteen border pillars along the 65-kilometer Nepal-India border adjoining the Banke district have been found missing.

JANAKI (Banke), Dec 7: The border pillars along the Nepal-India bordering area in Jamunaha, Banke are being repaired and restored as per the cabinet decision.

JHAPA, Dec 4: The repair of 317 border pillars along the Nepal-India border, spanning from Mechinagar to Gaurigunj in Jhapa, commenced today. The technical team from Bhadrapur-2 battalion of the Armed Police Force initiated the repair of Reference Border Pillar (RP) No. 91/1 under Permanent Border Pillar (PP) 55 in Mechinagar Municipality Ward-7, Satighatta, in a ceremony.

BIRGUNJ, June 28: As many as 849 border marker pillars have been missing along the border with India in Province no 2. Eight districts of the province share a 464-kilometre long stretch of the border with India from Gobargadha of Saptari district in the east to Thori of Parsa district in the west.

TIKAPUR, Dec 23: India's paramilitary force, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), which had obstructed the construction of a river embankment in Kailali, has backed off from the region. It also said that the construction was not obstructed intentionally.

ITAHARI, Nov 23: A total of 23 border pillars in Kusaha of south-eastern Nepal were swept away by the massive flood in Saptakoshi river in Sunsari district over a decade ago. Among them, four were the main pillars while the rest were subsidiary ones. Those pillars have not been restored yet.
