Bir Hospital is beyond recognition from its old state after a complete makeover that lasted for two months. Apart from the basement of the outpatient department (OPD), all sections of the nation’s oldest hospital are glistening after a thorough renovation.

KATHMANDU, June 23: While civil campaigner Dr Govinda KC, professor at the Institute of Medicine, stages protests or raises his voice with ample publicity, Ganga Maya Adhikari of Gorkha, who has been fighting for justice for years now, has been neglected even by civil society.

Sitaram Kattel, better known for his comedy character ‘Dhurmus’, is busy these days inside the premises of Bir Hospital, Kathmandu. His foundation, the Dhurumus Suntali Foundation, has piloted a campaign of cleaning the hospital. The campaign was commenced with permission from the Ministry of Health.
