KATHMANDU, June 27: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has officially started generating biofuel from waste from today following a long test production. In the beginning, domestic waste collected from two wards (12 and 19) from the KMC will be used for the project, said a KMC official.
KALIKOT, Feb 4: The District Hospital of Kalikot is all set to produce a biogas plant by utilizing the waste matter. When the biogas plant comes into operation, it is believed to relieve the patients as well as the locals from the unmanaged waste, that had been posing serious problems.
Biogas will make Nepal self-sufficient and self-reliant. The need for importing everything from electricity to petroleum will gradually decrease. Pollution will be controlled and the industrial sector will flourish.
