Bhanu Bhakta remembered by Nepali

KATMANDU, July 13: Nepali speakers in Nepal, India, Bhutan and the rest of the world celebrated the 204th birth anniversary of Nepali poet Bhanu Bhakta Acharya on Thursday, organizing various programs in their areas.

KATHMANDU, July 12: He dresses himself in Daura Suruwal, with Patuka around his waist and a shawl across the shoulder. Slipping into the guises of Adikavi Bhanu Bhakta, he carries a Rayaman scripture in his hand and dashes off one litterateur's place to another as well as literary institutions in the same guise for promotion and propagation of Nepali literature.

KATHMANDU, April 8: A statue of Nepal's 'Adikabi' Bhanu Bhakta Acharya has been established in India's renowned city Krishnanagar (Nadia district of western Bengal).

DARJEELING, JULY 14: Chowrasta Chowk in Darjeeling echoed with Bhanubhakta Acharya's poetry and Nepal's national anthem throughout Tuesday. Most of the men present there were in daura-suruwal, the traditional Nepali outfit, and the women wore chaubandi cholo.

NEW SOUTH WALES, Australia: Nepali Kala Sanskriti Tatha Sahitya Pratisthan (NKSSP) celebrated 203rd Bhanu Jayanti at Ashfield polish club in New South Wales, Australia on Saturday to acknowledge the poet for his contribution to Nepali literature.
