BALEWA, Nov 30: Two people died in a tractor accident at Balewa in Baglung district. The tractor (Dha 1 Cha 360) heading for Kushmishera from Kaiya of Narayansthan in Baglung Municipality-14 met with the accident at the Balewa-Kushmishera section of the Kaligandaki Corridor. The identity of the deceased has not been disclosed.
KATHMANDU, Nov 17: The Kayat community of Baglung, which has no identity, has announced that it will not participate in the census. The Kayat community has decided not to be included in the census 2021 saying that the state has ignored them without giving them their identity. They have complained that the community has been deprived of all services due to lack of identity.
BAGLUNG, August 26: COVID-19 tests are being carried out using Antigen Kits on random people walking in the streets of Baglung as prohibitory orders continue to be in place in the district. The tests are being carried out in every main street of Baglung starting Monday. All 93 people tested at the Loktantrik Chowk on Wednesday tested negative for COVID-19, according to Ram Prasad Khanal, Public Health Officer at Baglung Municipality.

Baglung, May 14: As many as three members of a family have died of COVID-19 within a week from Badigad Rural Municipality-4 of Baglung district. According to the locals, the family had attended a wedding ceremony in Jaljala of Badigad-4, two weeks ago.
GALKOT, Jan 26: Lymphatic filariasis, commonly known as Elephantiasis, has emerged as a health challenge again in Baglung. Just before the start of the 12th phase of the Elephantiasis prevention campaign, the disease was found in Narayanthan of Balewa and Kushisera of Jaimini village in the district.
BAGLUNG, Nov 23: Two persons died in a jeep accident at Badigad Rural municipality of Baglung district this morning. A pick-up jeep (Lu 1 Da 4370) en route to Gwalichaur met with the accident. Tek Maya Roka, aged around 22, and her one-year-old son died in the accident.
BAGLUNG, Sept 5: A flood in the Bhujikhola River of Dhorpatan Municipality in Baglung district on Wednesday night not only caused loss of life but also damaged many physical structures in the area. The flash flood was triggered by heavy rain.

BAGLUNG, Jan 25: Last year, the Gandaki Province government had announced that it would provide subsidy for the operation of homestay programs in the province. Hundreds of applications were filed in hopes of receiving the subsidy from the government. More than two dozen applications were filed from Baglung district for permission to operate homestay programs. One and half dozen applicants received the subsidy from the government. But homestay operators in Nishi Khola have not been attracted by the subsidy programs offered by the government.
