Human birth comes with inherent affiliations not just to the family that the individual is born into, but also to the society that the child will later be a part of. The aggregation of people living within a certain geographic region creates a web of networks so intertwined that a mere whisper at one end can set off vibrations at another.

SINDHULI, Jan 27: President of the main opposition party Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba on Saturday claimed that the recent actions of the K P Sharma Oli government are against the spirit of democracy. He said what transpired in the House of Representatives on Friday indicated the leftist government’s inclining towards authoritarianism.

Central Working Committee member and a senior leader of Nepali Congress, Dr Shekhar Koirala is a vocal critic of internal conflict and strong advocate of change within the party. But Nepali Congress has not yet been able to stand assertively on issues of public concern and has rather been reactive to government actions. What led Congress to this situation?
