Angel-like ladies clad in traditional Chinese attire making tea on stage with undeniably celestial grace left many Nepali viewers filled with awe in Kathmandu on Thursday evening. Almost 500 members of the audience on stage were soaked in a quintessential Chinese ambience for two hours (well, that passed so quickly!) when the artistes performed.

The government of neighboring country India issued postal stamp on Madhubani-Mithila art in 2000 AD. Now the present government has implemented it. It started publishing and distributing the stamps from April, 2016. This news has encouraged the artists of India and Nepal alike. Such initiation will help to understand its glorious tradition. Under the leadership of the chancellor of Nepal Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) and veteran artist Ragini Upadhyay, nine Nepali artists have left for Bangladesh on Sunday. They will participate in the Nepal Art Week being organized in the capital of Bagladesh, Dhaka. The event commenced on Monday.

Hundreds of artworks from over 400 artists are being showcased at Nepal Art Council, Babarmahal, Kathmandu in the eighth edition of ‘National Lalitkala Exhibition’, that was kicked off on Wednesday. The annual exhibition is organized by Nepal Academy of Fine Arts.

Kathmandu: Nepal Academy of Music and Drama (NAMUDA) organized a press meet on Sunday at its premises, Bhatbhateni. The event aimed to inform about the distribution of Identity cards to various artists related to music and drama to honor their contribution. It was informed that the ID cards will be distributed soon under the proposal of 2073 BS about the distribution of identity cards to artists, approved by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.

‘Crossing Borders’ an art exhibition with a focus on prints and drawings is taking place from Sunday at Siddhartha Art Gallery, Baber Mahal Revisited.
