KATHMANDU, Mar 2: Lawmakers on Sunday urged the government to launch a special campaign to stand against certain ill practices in Nepali society such as witchcraft, social problems like dowry system, and criminal activities such as acid attacks.

In this era of ‘me too’ and ‘acid attacks’, we are hearing more men and boys making the same type of mistakes again and again.  Under such circumstances, I think it is time we asked ourselves: Where did we go wrong while raising our boys? Are we still influenced by our patriarchal society’s male preference? Frankly speaking, I don’t have the answers to these questions, but male preference is gradually decreasing.

KATHMANDU, Sept 26: After rigorous treatment at Kritipur Hospital for 13 days, doctors have said 16-year-old Sushmita Das, one of the two victims of the acid attack at Chandrapur Municipality-6, Rautahat, is out of danger.
