CHITWAN, Nov 7: In view of the upcoming Visit Nepal Year 2020, the government is all set to complete the construction of an “umbrella street” alongside Rapti River in Patihani of Chitwan within this December. The under-construction street offers a spectacular sunset view. According the local authorities, 70 percent of the project has been completed and the rest will be done before the Visit Nepal Year 2020 begins.

A global event on nutrition—Sun Global Gathering—is going to be held in Kathmandu from November 4 to 7. SUN, or Scaling Up Nutrition, is a global movement launched in 2010 with an aim of ending all forms of malnutrition. SUN brings together governments, civil society, private sector, academia, activists, and others in a common platform and provide framework for working together to improve the nutritional outcomes worldwide. SUN Global Gathering (SUNGG) is the flagship event of the SUN movement which aims to develop a common understanding on the issue of malnutrition and reinforce commitment from governments and other sectors to improve nutrition. The Government of Nepal is co-hosting the event with SUN movement Secretariat. It is an important opportunity for Nepal to showcase and reflect on its progress and learn from the experiences of other SUN countries in bringing down malnutrition.
BHAIRAHAWA, Oct 17: Gautam Buddha International Airport at Bhairahawa, which is currently under construction, has witnessed the overall completion of 82 per cent works. It counts 82 per cent of the physical set-up and 18 per cent of electromechanical works of the project.
I was going through Instagram posts and came across a majestic photo of Kanchenjunga. The photo was taken from a hotel in Damak, which is situated at an elevation of 126 meters. A 8,586 meter high mountain was looming behind the hills, roughly at a vertical distance of 130 kilometers.
Apart from my own country, I have seen the United States, but I am pretty confident that it’s only in Nepal where you can see such a tall mountain from such a low elevation. Nepal is a gem, but we often fail to market what we have to the international community.
