KATHMANDU, May 22: The home ministry has urged one and all to help in investigating a video clip related to violence against women which has been circulated on social media lately. A probe committee was formed and the government is committed to investigate and take action against those involved in the matter, according to a statement issued by the ministry on Saturday.

GORKHA, Nov 30: A total of 11 women and children committed suicide in Gorkha in the last four months. During last fiscal year, 29 women and children had taken their own lives. According to the district police office, huge number women and children hit by domestic violence are found to have committed suicide. And domestic violence is more common in poor and marginalized communities.

PALPA, Nov 26: Formal and informal programs of various kinds were held in the district on Monday as part of the 16-day activism against violence against women (VAW) organized worldwide and across the country. The campaign that begins every year from 25 November and ends in 10 December has brought stakeholders together for the cause.

SURKHET, Dec 31: Chief Justice Sushila Karki has instructed judges to settle cases related to violence against women (VAW) within three months of registering the cases at the court saying that women are still deprived of getting access to justice.
