KATHMANDU, Nov 19: With the gradual disappearance of the Covid-19 pandemic, Nepal is experiencing an increase in tourism activities.

They were speaking at a program organized on the occasion of the 5th foundation day of the Tourism Sisterhood Association, a joint organization of women working in the tourism sector.

But as the hotel occupancy rate is only 20 percent, leaving tourism entrepreneurs here highly worried about the fate of their business.

KATHMANDU, Jan 4: With the declining number of COVID-19 cases in Nepal, the tourism sector is slowly returning back on track. According to the data published by Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), more than 600,000 tourists visited Nepal in 2022 against 230,085 visitors in 2020.

POKHARA, Nov 21: The tourism sector which was badly affected by the coronavirus pandemic is returning back on track. As a proof of it, 88,582 tourists entered Nepal till November. In ten months of the year 2022, a total of 4,73,563 tourists have entered Nepal.

KATHMANDU, June 26: Former prime minister and chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has accused the state of neglecting the tourism sector. He made such an allegation while speaking at the swearing-in and medal handover program organized by the Nepal Mountaineering Association on Friday.

Eight youths summit Mt Mardi

KASKI, Oct 8: Eight youths from Machhapuchchhre Rural Municipality-1 of Kaski district have successfully climbed the 5587-metre-tall Mt Mardi. The youths summited the mountain for the promotion of trekking as well as climbing.

KATHMANDU, Oct 4: Nepal welcomed 9,898 foreign tourists in the month of September, according to the information released by the Department of Immigration. The number of tourists who arrived in August was around 6,000.

According to the Lumbini Hotels Association, hotels in the region have announced various discounts on their accommodation and food services to attract domestic tourists.
