KATHMANDU, June 8: The Madhav Kumar Nepal led-faction of CPN UML has decided to support the Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province, Trilochan Bhatta, who is seeking a vote of confidence in the provincial assembly today. However, the KP Sharma Oli led-faction of the party has decided not to give a vote to CM Bhatta.
KATHMANDU, Oct 20: Police on Tuesday recovered the body of a Nepal Police constable, Ram Bahadur Saud, posted at a temporary police post in Jugeda in Kailali, who had been missing for the past three days.

BAITADI, Feb 10: Police have taken under control an ambulance with a dead spotted deer. Darchula Police impounded the ambulance at around 1pm Sunday from Gokuleshwar market in Sailyashikhar Municipality-9. The ambulance belongs to Dilasaini Rural Municipality.
Nowadays, the news of airlifting childbearing women from remote areas by the government is common. In this fiscal year only, the government airlifted four childbearing women from Bajhang, a remote district of Sudurpaschim Province. Similar incidents were observed in Dolpa, Jajarkot, Bhojpur and many other remote districts. While on the one hand, it shows the responsiveness of the government to save the lives of needy people, on the other, it depicts the failure of the local health system. If we don’t think judiciously in this matter, this will further jeopardize the local health system. DHANGADHI, Nov 29: On November 22, Ram Bahadur Rokaya and Ram Bahadur Thagunna were walking on the road at Krishnanagar Municipality-2 in Kanchanpur district. A speeding vehicle hit them and Rokaya died of injuries at the Seti Provincial Hospital. Police have yet to nab the vehicle and the driver.
KAILALI, Nov 18: The Sudurpaschim provincial government has been spending more than four million rupees on salaries, residents, communication, water, and electricity supply to ministers and provincial assembly members, excluding the amount provided to them for fuel.
ATTARIYA, June 6: The Dhangadhi airport will remain closed for one more week for the upgrading of the runway. The only airport connecting Kathmandu to Dhangadhi of Sudurpaschim Province in the far west began the temporary closure from May 5.
DHANGADHI, May 26: The Dhangadhi Airport, the only airport in Sudurpaschim Province, has been closed for the last 21 days for the ongoing repair work. Before shutting down the airport for a month, the authorities had assured the locals that the airport will resume its services after 20 days.
BAJHANG, March 9: Devaki Malla (Thapa), a member of the Sudurpaschim province assembly who was briefly held by the cadres of the Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN-Maoist on Friday was released the same day after an “interrogation by the party.”
DHANGADHI, Jan 23: Mountain districts of western Nepal experienced heavy snowfall on Tuesday. The snowfall which started since Monday night affected all the northern districts of Sudurpaschim Province, bringing down the temperature drastically.
DOTI, Jan 20: The Supreme Court has sought clarification from the concerned government authorities for selecting Godawari as the capital of Sudurpaschim Province. The constitutional bench led by Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana on Friday issued a ‘show cause notice’ to the government to present the reasons behind picking Godawari as the province capital.
