Nepal, China ink MoU on Inter-parliamentary Cooperation

KATHMANDU, Jan 31: Speaker of the dissolved House of Representatives, Agni Prasad Sapkota on Sunday said that the process for conducting parliamentary hearings on the political appointments made at various constitutional bodies by the Constitutional Council in December last year cannot move forward as the House of Representatives remains dissolved.

Speaker of the dissolved House of Representatives says he will convey his opinion to the Supreme Court.

KATHMANDU, Jan 28: Police on Monday morning arrested 12 human rights activists who had assembled outside the President’s Office to protest the appointment of Agni Sapkota, who is accused in an insurgency-era murder. They had assembled in front of the President’s Office where speaker-elect Sapkota had gone to take the oath of office and secrecy.
