KATHMANDU, Nov 12: While the hearings over Mohammad Alam's involvement in killing nearly two dozen people in a bomb blast and subsequently throwing them into a brick kiln is underway at Rautahat District Court, the victims are changing their court statements. Lawyers for the victims say the court statements are being changed under pressure in an attempt to weaken the high-profile mass murder case.

RAUTAHAT, Nov 6: As the recording of a statement from suspended lawmaker Mohammad Aftab Alam was delayed on Tuesday after his lawyers demanded copies of the charge sheet filed against him, Rautahat District Court is recording the statement of the Nepali Congress leader on Wednesday also.

Alam remanded for eight more days

RAUTAHAT, Oct 26: The District Court, Rautahat on Friday remanded former minister Mohammad Aftab Alam in custody for eight more days.

RAUTAHAT, Oct 20: Rautahat District Court has remanded Nepali Congress leader Mohammad Aftab Alam in custody for more five days for investigations into a blast and subsequent murder of at least 22 of those injured in the bomb blast that took place in 2008.

RAUTAHAT, Oct 14: Police on Sunday arrested former minister Mohammad Aftab Alam on the charge of his involvement in committing several murders in Rautahat district in April 2008.
