Prabal Gurung was thinking deep this season. He installed a mirrored square runway reflecting an opulent blue light display at the main branch of the New York Public Library for a fashion week show Friday exploring the Buddhist concept of “anichya,” or impermanence.

Prabal Gurung sent his New York Fashion Week models down a long, stark runway Saturday in the shadow of the United Nations wearing an explosion of sheers and colors as an ode to the misfits of the world who are “often watched and monitored, scrutinized but unseen", according to a report of Associated Press.

Prabal Gurung, a Nepali-American Hollywood fashion designer based in New York City, was present in the White House Rose Garden during the Asian-American reception along with other Asians.

Prabal Gurung blended his love for his adopted city of New York and his homeland of Nepal in a Fashion Week show featuring psychedelic flower prints imbued with a New York edginess.

She told waiting reporters this year’s theme is anything goes. “I hope they have a lot of fun,” she said of her A-list guests. “The more crazy the better.”
