KATHMANDU, Oct 5:  Agitating cadres of the main opposition party, Nepali Congress (NC), have pelted stones at the vehicle of Province 5 Chief Minister Shanker Pokharel on Sunday evening. Chief Minister Pokharel is unharmed in the incident.

Kathmandu, Jan 12: Hetauda has been declared as the permanent capital of Province 3. Earlier, it was the provisional capital for the province and now it has been confirmed as the permanent capital by the state assembly.

MAKAWANPUR, Jan 5: Amid dissatisfaction expressed by lawmakers of both the ruling and the opposition parties over the directive made by Kathmandu about the name and capital city of Province 3, both ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) and main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) have intensified internal discussions to fix the permanent capital of the province.

BIRATNAGAR, May 2: The rift within the ruling Nepal Communist Party’s (NCP) Province 1 provincial committee  has further widened, with  the provincial assembly members and cabinet members failing to agree on the name of the province and its permanent capital.

JANAKPURDHAM, Oct 29: A three-member commission has been formed in Province 2 for collecting suggestions for fixing the name of the province and selecting a permanent capital.
