"Initially I was also in confusion. I was told many things that turned out to be rather false. But even after such a long time after I filed a case against him [Dilip Bista] why hasn't he been booked yet?" she questions. "If he is not the culprit, the state must bring me the real one. KANCHANPUR, March 20: Sacked Superintendent of Police (SP), Dilli Raj Bista, surrendered himself before the Kanchapur District Court (DC) on Tuesday so as to record his statement on the Nirmala Panta rape and murder case.

KATHMANDU, Sept 14: Main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) briefly disrupted the parliament meeting on Thursday, demanding answer from the government on the progress made in the investigation into the rape and murder of 13-year-old Niramala Panta of Kanchanpur.

KANCHANPUR, Aug 31: After finding Nirmala Pant' body, police personnel washed the suruwal worn by her in order to destroy evidence, it has been learnt. Although police are supposed to take precautions to preserve evidence at the scene of a suspected crime, their act of washing a clothing item which was worn by the victim and which could contain valuable evidence such as blood and other body fluids, has raised further suspicions about their motives.
