POKHARA, Jan 19: A chartered flight of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) is leaving Kathmandu for the Macao Special Administrative Region of China on Tuesday midnight, to bring back home 147 Nepali workers who lost their jobs there due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
DOTI, April 12: Twenty two families from Dipayal Silgadhi Municipality-8 of Doti district are currently stranded in Haliyal, Banglore of India due to the lockdown, imposed by both India and Nepal. Neither are they able to return home, nor do they have enough money and food left to survive in an alienated land. It has been about a month since the daily wage earners are locked inside their rooms. And it is not sure when the situation will be normal.
KATHMANDU, March 7: The number of Nepali workers going abroad in search of foreign employment has sharply declined in recent weeks after the outbreak of the new coronavirus in China and its rapid spread in different parts of the world. Foreign employment officials estimate the number of outbound migrant workers has declined by 75 percent.
