KATHMANDU, April 7: A recent survey in Nepal has revealed that 34.1 percent of the population engages in the use of tobacco products in various forms. The findings were published by the Nepal Development Research Institute (NDRI) in a report entitled 'National Survey on Socio-Economic and Policy Aspects of Tobacco Use in Nepal'.

KATHMANDU, Jan 21: On Friday, 12 people, including three from Gorkha, returned back to Nepal from Malaysia after being held hostage 20 days in one of the main labour destination countries. The Nepali hostages were freed at the initiative of the Government of Nepal.

GORKHA, Jan 9: Nineteen Nepalis, including five Gorkhali people, have been held hostage in Malaysia for eight days. The youths who arrived in Malaysia on September 8 to work in the supplier company from Sanepa's search requirement manpower are stranded.

Most of Nepalis in Ukraine rescued

LONDON, March 11: Most of the Nepali nationals displaced in Ukraine as a result of the Russia-Ukraine conflict have been rescued.

KATHMANDU, March 2: As many as 302 Nepalis affected by the Russia-Ukraine conflict have reached safe destinations. Addressing a meeting of the High Level Committee on Assistance and Rescue of Nepalis Affected by Russia-Ukraine Conflict Tuesday evening, Nepali Ambassador to Germany, Ram Kaji Khadka said that Nepalis have so far reached Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Moldova from Ukraine in search of a safe place.
