KATHMANDU, August 13: A team of Nepali girls have paved their way to finals of a football tournament at Sikkim, organized jointly by Gyalsingh District Administration and Yangthang Sporting Club on the occasion of 76th Anniversary of the independence of India. The tournament is being held from August 3 to August 15.

RAMECHHAP, Sept 23: Lata (name changed) was studying in the seventh grade when she got married. A resident of Likhutamakoshi Rural Municipality – 4 of northern Ramechhap, she gave birth to a baby boy next year. Now she is 20 and her son is three year old. Her husband left for Malaysia last year and ‘does not ring her that often’.

KATHMANDU, Aug 31: A probe carried out by Nepal Police has disclosed that illiterate Nepali girls are being trafficked to China with the use of fake marriage documents. According to the Anti-Human Traffic Bureau of Nepal Police, girls from remote mountain villages are trafficked to China. Police have stopped some of them at the airport.
