KATHMANDU, March 22: The government has abolished the National Land Commission. A minister confirmed that the decision to dissolve the commission was made during Thursday's cabinet meeting.

A total of 14, 36,400 landless squatters and unorganized settlers have submitted applications with the National Land Commission (NLC) demanding for land ownership certificates. The commission is preparing to distribute the land ownership certificates to around 150,000 families within the next two months.

KATHMANDU, Jan 5: The Kathmandu District Committee of the National Land Commission has claimed that the issue of landless squatters will be solved effortlessly if the due process is followed. Officials of the committee, during a press conference and interaction held at the National Land Commission on Monday, claimed that the Kathmandu Metropolitan City has dragged the process needlessly into controversy.
