KATHMANDU, March 16: Secretary at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology  Dr Baikuntha Aryal has said that the government is not trying to control YouTube channels run by individuals.

KATHMANDU, May 12: While the media fraternity and civil society are worrying about one piece of legislation after another being drafted with even harsher provisions concerning the media , the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology has formulated yet another bill, proposing confiscation of media equipment and slapping fines of up to Rs 10 million and 15 years in jail for media persons found publishing offensive content.

KATHMANDU, Mar 3: The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has clarified that it has not published any information about its any intention to close social networking sites Facebook and Twitter, terming the information about the closure of the sites provided by the social site users fake.
