KATHMANDU, July 28: In response to criticism surrounding the Secondary Education Examination Class 10 (SEE) results, the government has introduced a new measure to improve student pass rates. Alongside this year's SEE examination, the government has decided to include a 25-mark internal practical test in Mathematics.

KATHMANDU, March 15: A Math Park has been launched for the first time in Nepal to dispel students from the mindset that mathematics is difficult. Math Park was started with the aim of making mathematics practical and useful for life.

KATHMANDU, Jan 31: Nepal Mathematical Society (NMS) has warned of nationwide agitations to protest the exclusion of mathematics from grades 11 and 12 Biology group. The Ministry of Education, through a ministerial decision on August 6 last year, made Mathematics a non-compulsory subject for Biology group in grades 11 and 12. The Curriculum Development Center(CDS) Sanothimi has already finalized the curriculum to be implemented from the next academic session which begins in April.

ROLPA, Jan 19: The free tuition classes of Science and Mathematics at different community schools of the 12 districts of Province 5 in view of the nearing Secondary Education Examination (SEE) have drawn flak.  While free Science tuition classes are being offered at 742 and Mathematics at 888 schools under the initiative taken by the Social Development Ministry, school teachers and other stakeholders have criticized it as a populist program of the government.

At the beginning of my teenage, I developed an interest in electronic devices. Screwdrivers and fluke testers replaced my toys. I preferred unscrewing and screwing the electronic devices, stripping the wires with teeth, replacing the fuses, connecting two wires and taping the connection points rather than watching cartoons. These tasks, to me, were challenging, and as a curious teenager, I had no one to look up to but to explore videos to learn more.

KATHMANDU, April 19: A study conducted by the Educational Standard Evaluation Centre shows that there has not been much improvement in the rate of learning outcome of the students despite the implementation by the government of the School Sector Development Programme.
