Rs 1.2 million entry fee collected from Mardi trekkers in one month

POKHARA, Dec 3: Machhapuchhre Rural Municipality of Kaski has collected a total entry fee of Rs 1.2 million from trekkers visiting Mardi, Khumain and Korchang within a month. The rural municipality started collecting entry fees from locals and foreigners from November 3.

In January this year, me and my friends embarked on a trek to Mardi Himal base camp, on the laps of Mardi Himal and Machhapuchre. The trek started from Dhampus and we went through many lush forests, while getting to enjoy amazing views of Annapurna (south), Hiuchuli and Machhapuchre mountain range.

We woke up at 3 am so as to reach the Mardi Himal base camp. It takes almost 3 hours to reach the base camp from the high camp. We got ready and carried our torches with us.
