According to a press statement issued by the Office of President, Chairman Dahal was appointed as new Prime Minister as per the Article 76(2) of the Constitution of Nepal.

The coalition partner has also said that the party cannot support the endorsement of the MCC Agreement through parliament without bringing amendments in some of the controversial provisions of the Agreement.
