KATHMANDU, April 5: Nepal and India have decided to conduct a joint study of the ongoing construction activities being carried by the Indian side along the Nepal-India border in the Darchula district to make sure that these works have not breached Nepal's international border.

KATHMANDU, April 2: The Supreme Court has refused to issue a directive to repatriate Nepali citizens stranded beyond the Mahakali River. A single bench of justice Hari Krishna Karki refused to issue interim order in response to a writ petition filed demanding the evacuation of Nepali nationals being stranded in the border entry points as a result of the lockdown imposed by the government to contain the spread of COVID-19.

DARCHULA, May 22: Residents of Darchula villages bordering Mahakali River continue to use tyre tubes to cross the river even though a suspension bridge over the river was completed six months ago. The suspension bridge that connects Nepal and India and is situated in Lekam Rural Municipality – 3 of the district is yet to come into operation.

KANCHANPUR, Nov 4: Two men were killed and four others injured when a tractor (Se 1 Ta 5422) carrying mourners met with an accident along Bhimdattanagar-Daiji section along the East- West Highway today. The deceased and injured were returning home after attending a funeral at the Mahakali River.
