UAE (Dubai), Dec 7: Minister for Urban Development, Sita Gurung, has pointed out the need of building a common perspective and collaboration through the Loss and Damage Fund established in Climate Change Conference (COP28) to mitigate impacts of climate change in countries like Nepal.

In a landmark decision on the very first day of the COP28 summit in the United Arab Emirates, nearly 200 nations rallied to create a "loss and damage" fund, a significant stride toward supporting countries like Nepal that are grappling with the severe consequences of global warming.

DUBAI, Dec 1:Nearly 200 nations agreed Thursday to launch a fund to support countries hit by global warming, in a "historic" moment at the start of UN climate talks in the oil-rich UAE. The landmark announcement came as the Emirati host of the COP28 talks declared that fossil fuels must be part of any final climate deal negotiated over the next two weeks.
