The ruling alliance Nepali Congress (NC), CPN (Maoist Center), CPN (Unified Socialist) and the opposition CPN-UML and RPP are contesting in the district for the upcoming local polls. However, the NC, the Maoists and the Unified Socialist have formed an alliance in two places while a Maoist-Socialist alliance has been formed in the remaining local units.

BAGLUNG, April 9: National Assembly Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timalsina has said that the public should not vote to the political parties that are looking to secure a victory at any cost in the upcoming local-level elections.

INARUWA, March 26: Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, has said that electoral alliances will be formed for the local-level elections on the basis of need and justification.

KATHMANDU, Jan 29: CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that his party is ready for the election even if it is held in May.
