DOTI, Feb 28: A total of 883 travelers visited the Khaptad region in Sudurpaschim Province in the past seven months of the current fiscal year (FY).

DOTI, Jan 22: The major tourist destination in Sudurpaschim Province, Khaptad, has drawn an increasing number of domestic tourists since the second snowfall this winter last Wednesday.

Khaptad has been blanketed with heavy snow as the region started witnessing heavy snowfall since Thursday.

DOTI, Dec 16: Heavy snowfall and dipping mercury in Khaptad area has put the wildlife there at the risk of survival. As they move down to warmer areas in the human settlements to avoid the extreme cold, they turn vulnerable, according to Khaptad National Park authorities, who state that the mercury has dipped to minus six degree Celsius in the high hills. The jungles and pasture lands have received over two feet thick snow. It has been raining here since Wednesday.

ACHHAM, June 12: A shorter trekking route leading to the touristic site Khaptad has been constructed here. The visitors using this route can reach Khaptad in three hours. It starts from Unisaina of Sanfebagar municipality-12 in the district.

In efforts to uplift the lifestyle of Dadheldhura, the officials are taking steps to develop Ganyaap lake into Mini Khaptad. The initiative is especially taken to promote the tourism of this region.
