MORANG, Nov 25: Yogendra Mandal, an independent candidate, has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives (HoR).

SARLAHI, Nov 25: Independent candidate Amaresh Singh has won the election to the Member of House of Representatives from Sarlahi electoral constituency number 4. He secured 20,017 votes. His closest competitor Nagendra Kumar of the Nepali Congress on behalf of the ruling coalition obtained 18,253.

BARDIYA, Nov 24: Independent candidate Lalbir Chaudhary was elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Bardiya 2.

KATHMANDU, May 28: Altogether 385 independent candidates sealed victory in the May 13 local elections so far, according to the Election Commission of Nepal.

DHANGADI, May 22: Independent candidate Gopal Hamal has been elected the mayor of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolis. He won with 26,865 votes while his closest rival, the common candidate of ruling alliance, Nrip Bahadur Oda of the Nepali Congress, received 14,817 votes.

KAPILVASTU, Nov 25: Dipendra Chaudhary, a youth leader and an independent candidate for the Provincial Assembly from Kapilvastu, was shot dead following a dispute with a local on Friday evening. Dipendra, 35,  of Sudhodhan Rural Municipality-4 was killed near his residence along the Lawani-Hathihawa road.

KAPILVASTU, Nov 24: Dipendra Kumar Chaudhary aka Raja Babu, the Independent candidate of the last year's provincial elections from Kapilvastu, was shot dead by the unidentified gunmen on Friday night, police said.
