Humanity and Belief

June 25, 2021 16:39 pm

People claim that illiterates or ill-educated people can easily be persuaded with sugar-coated words. Some claim that faith is because of poverty. Because of these things gullible  people can be tapped everywhere in the globe. But it is only partially true. Even the well-educated people, rich people and the people of developed as well as developing countries are also divided by faith and prejudice.

Together we can beat the pandemic

March 29, 2020 08:13 am

I have a pollen allergy. Even a slight exposure to it greatly agitates multiple organs of my body and often causes debilitating headaches and intermittent fevers. Every spring, I still venture out to nature walk like a warrior donning facemasks and respirators to take on the pollen head-on. For I love to devour spring smell and glory notwithstanding my physique’s loathing of its byproduct (pollen), which is a given and plentiful in the suburbs of American south.

My journey of helping

July 21, 2019 09:45 am

As a kid, if anyone asked me what I wanted to become, my answer varied every year, or should I say each quarter. As I grew, I did not have a concrete answer, but I knew I liked basketball as a sport and accounts as a subject. In no time, I started pursuing Chartered Accountancy. I completed the course with a lot of determination and perseverance while working at an audit firm. I realized this was not my calling and I was still trying to figure out what was. I transitioned my field from Accounting to Advertising, which was a huge step, and I never looked back and regretted any of my decisions.

An ode to Kathmandu

July 13, 2019 00:25 am

Dear Kathmandu, people’s perceptions toward you have been gradually changing with the changes in the political system of Nepal. The capital of Nepal only is not enough to describe your greatness. People attempt to define your existence according to their experience on your lap. The loud voices of happiness and anguish, content and discontent, respect and hatred, inspiration and frustration these days are not uncommon in Kathmandu. And, yes, you’re being both blessed and cursed for everything.

Somewhere or the other we as a human have been harassed, bullied, assaulted within our lives that had certainly left a negative impact in our mind, heart and soul.

Humanity and power

April 7, 2019 00:25 am

Humanity and power have an inverse relationship.  If that sounds like too strong an opinion, let us see two related examples. First, the Armed Police Force’s vehicle escorting Lokendra Bahadur Chand brushed a scooter riding female in the street. The police vehicle did not stop to check if the scooter rider was alright.

November 19, 2017 09:32 am

Amrit, see those stars. What do you think of them? Are they the one having control over us? Do we behave the way we do due to some messiah out there? These were some of the questions that we discussed every evening as we passed through the stinking yet beautiful Bagmati River. I remember how those walks to Pasupathinath shaped us become a different man strengthening our whimsical and philosophical interpretation of life. We talked of Dickens, Dawkins, Goethe, Plato, Socrates, Hitchens and what not in our journey.
