KATHMANDU, Dec 24: The reconstruction of the historic monument, Dharahara, in the federal capital has witnessed the completion of RCC construction of 20 of the 24 stories including two underground floors.

Twenty-nine years old, Jaa Dangol, is the founder of Lachhi situated in Khokana. Lachhi has its own café and store where one can taste the authentic Newari food, buy ethnic handmade crafts and local agricultural products.

Setting up a safe virtual space called ‘Guthi Minecraft Server’  for the Nepalese kids under the age of thirteen. A total of 15 kids have come together virtually for two hours every day to play and learn about Nepali cultural heritage for the last three months.

KATHMANDU, June 7: Thirty percent reconstruction works of the historic Kasthamandap have been completed. The Kasthamandap Reconstruction Committee has said the works are going on in full- swing with a target of completing the woks of ground floor within mid-July. Works are going on in line with the schedule, committee chair Rajesh Shakya said.

KATHMANDU, Nov 5: The authorities concerned with the reconstruction of Dharahara and the local communities have pledged to assist in the reconstruction of the iconic heritage. At a function organized by the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) on Sunday, the attendees pledged to help in the reconstruction by removing all the infrastructures in the area and helping in the reconstruction process in the future as well.

KATHMANDU, Oct 29: A seminar on updating the syllabus for Master of Arts in Buddhism and Himalayan Studies was held at the Lumbini College of Buddhism and Himalayan Studies at Taragaun premises,  Kathmandu. On the occasion of World Youth Skill Day, Dallu Aawas Sthaniya Sahayog Samiti organized 'Heritage Run’ on Sunday aiming to promote world heritage sites and help in the development of tourism in Nepal.

A four-day group art exhibition on Nepalese cultural heritage concluded on Thursday at Nepal Art Council amidst a function.

UNESCO has added eight pre-Islamic Iranian archeological sites to its World Heritage List, raising the number of Iran cultural places on the UN agency's list to 24.

Martin Perschler directs the US Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation, a cultural heritage preservation grant program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the US Department of State. In Nepal, it has provided financial and technical assistance for reconstruction of Gaddi Baithak at Hanuman Dhoka and other heritage sites in Kathmandu valley. Mahabir Paudyal and Kosh Raj Koirala met with Perschler to discuss various aspects of heritage reconstruction and study of architecture and history.

KATHMANDU, May 16: The already sluggish reconstruction work of Basantapur Durbar Square, a UNESCO world heritage site damaged by the 2015 earthquakes, has been further slowed down due to acute shortage of traditional construction materials and skilled manpower.

KATHMANDU, April 28: Painting exhibition ‘Anirvan’ is on display from Tuesday at Imago Dei Café, Nagpokhari. Artist Niharika Pant’s 21 paintings are featured in the five-day long exhibition. This is her second solo exhibition, which was inaugurated by Maha duo Madan Krishna Shrestha and Hari Bansha Acharya.

KATHMANDU, April 23: NMB Bank organized 7th NMB Bank Heritage Walk 2018 on Saturday. Like in the past years, the bank organized awareness walk and cleaned heritage sites across the country, according to a statement issued on Sunday.

This Thursday, locals of Chasan near Basantapur, Kathmandu, were seen taking selfies and photographs in front of wall-arts painted on their houses. There was an air of great fun and excitement as they were rejoicing and discussing the beautiful realistic art that was just created on their houses. They were saying how those artworks truly represented the area.

World Heritage Day 2018: India home to 36 sites

Kathmandu, April 15: A week-long campaign has been launched in a bid to develop historical and cultural heritage sites between Hanumandhoka and Swayambhu as a heritage circuit and a tourist destination.

KATHMANDU, April 15: Kathmandu Metropolitan City Office is organizing Hanumandhoka Durbar Square World Heritage to Swoyambhu World Heritage Walk and various other cultural programs on the occasion of World Heritage Day. The program that begins on Sunday will continue until April 21 where one will be able to observe 19 historical places on their walk.

KATHMANDU, Nov 28: The idols of goddess Bal Kumari and Rudryani from the Rudrayani Temple in Khokana was stolen on the night of November 25. It is not the first case that the idols at this temple have been stolen. The idol of Bhairav was also robbed some two years ago and it is still missing. Before that, two more attempts of theft had occurred in the temple in the years 2033 BS and 2045 BS, but the locals had caught the thieves and restored the idols.

Young girls and boys on Saturday crowded The Heritage Garden in Sanepa to attend the Comic and Cosplay Convention Nepal 2017 organized by Next Entertainment in association with The Arbitary Group. The event had various musical performances, cosplay competition and stalls.

The US Embassy in Nepal on Friday announced Impact Foundation and the Kathmandu Valley Preservation Trust (KVPT) as this year’s recipients of the Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP).

The Central Department of Nepalese History, Culture and Archaeology (NeHCA), Tribhuvan University (TU) had recently organized a five-day educational tour to Surkhet and Dailekh for the students studying in III rd semester in NeHCA.
