KATHMANDU, June 11: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has directed the government to immediately investigate whether Members of Parliament (MPs), civil servants and public office holders have obtained foreign citizenships and residence permits. The CIAA issued this instruction after people holding public positions were found to have foreign citizenship and residence permits.

KATHMANDU, June 7: In Madhesh Province, it has been found that more than half of the government employees are absent from their offices without having their leave approved. Some employees mark their attendance a day or two in advance and then stay home.

KATHMANDU, May 20: The liaison officers (LOs) who are deployed for managing mountain expeditions are hired on the basis of their access to ‘higher-ups’. The private secretaries of the Minister of Tourism, various party-affiliated employees' unions, officials of organizations, and the employees of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) go to the mountain climbing time and again as liaison officers. But the employees who do not have links with powerful people do not get the opportunity even after completing five-six years of training to become a liaison officer.

KATHMANDU, Jan 15: A day after the Supreme Court (SC) refused to issue a stay order in response to a writ petition filed against the government's plan for the adjustment of civil servants in the three tiers of government, two separate petitions were filed at the apex court on Monday, seeking the court's intervention in the matter.
