More invalid votes under PR

KATHMANDU, Dec 12: There were more invalid votes under the proportional representation (PR) system than under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) system.

KATHMANDU, Dec 13: Of the total 165 lawmakers in parliament to be elected under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) category, at least 40 percent are going to be new faces. In the 275-member lower house, 110 members are to be nominated under the proportional representation (PR) category after the allocation of PR seats to  political parties on the basis of the PR votes they secured  across the country.

KATHMANDU, Dec 6: The Election Commission (EC) has claimed that final results of the parliamentary and provincial assembly elections under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) electoral system will come within four days of the start of the vote count.

KOHALPUR, Nov 9: Altogether 112 candidates have registered their candidacy in Banke for the upcoming parliamentary and provincial polls scheduled for December 7. However, only one Dalit woman will be contesting under the First-Past-The-Post (FPTP) category from the whole district.

GULMI, Nov 6: Not a single woman has been fielded in the upcoming parliamentary elections under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) category in Gulmi by any political party. As per the details provided by the District Election Office, there isn't any woman candidate contesting the polls under this category.
