KATHMANDU, Feb 15: Young individuals, cheated during foreign employment and seeking justice from the Department of Foreign Employment (DoFE), have little hope for a resolution. About 800 victims have filed complaints in various sections of the DoFE against Bikas Waiba and Sujan Tamang, who duped them with promises of foreign employment. Bikas Waiba and Sujan Tamang are the same individuals who utilized social media platforms to cheat many unsuspecting victims.

KATHMANDU, Dec 31: The number of young people aspiring to go abroad after facing unemployment in the country is constantly increasing. In comparison to the month of Kartik (mid-October to mid-November), the number of individuals obtaining work permits has nearly doubled in Mangsir (mid-November to mid-December).

Online service of DoFE disrupted

KATHMANDU, Aug 9: The online service of the Department of Foreign Employment (DoFE) has been disrupted. Information officer and director of the DoFE Kabiraj Upreti said that the service has been disrupted since Tuesday due to the migration process of the file server of the DoFE's Foreign Employment Information Management System (FEIMS).

13% of candidates pass EPS-TOPIK

KATHMANDU, June 29: The Employment Permit System (EPS) under the Department of Foreign Employment (DoFE) published the result of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) on Friday. Out of 92,376 candidates who filled up the form, around 13% passed the exam. The total number of passed candidates is 12,009 for this year.

KATHMANDU, Feb 11: As many as 53 Malaysian companies have been barred from hiring Nepali workers due to their 'dismal track record', according to the Department of Foreign Employment (DoFE). The companies in question were among 67 companies in Malaysia and the Gulf region blacklisted by the DoFE in the recent weeks acting upon tip offs of Nepal's missions, rights organizations and complaints of Nepalis working there.
