KATHMANDU, July 18: A 10 year child was raped by a man four times her age in Gurvakot municipality of Surkhet. According to police, 52 year old Lok Bahadur BK, who had come to his daughter-in-law’s house at around 11 PM, had raped the child.

PARBAT, June 4: Police have arrested two youths in accusation of raping a disabled girl child and a woman.

KATHMANDU, April 8: As the spring season begins, mountaineers have started heading for the mountains, including Mount Everest. Disabled-abled climber Xia Boyu, a 70-year-old Chinese, is among the mountaineers aiming to climb Mount Everest this spring. This is going to be Xia’s fifth attempt to climb Everest. The Department of Tourism (DoT) has said that the Chinese climber set off for Mt Everest last week.

KATHMANDU, March 8:  The Supreme Court on Wednesday permitted the visually impaired and the disabled to scale Mt Everest, suspending  implementation of government regulations that  banned them from such climbs.

According to Prosthetics Orthotics Society-Nepal, at the moment, there are only 11 certified Nepali Prosthetists Orthotists in the country. But even before we begin to brood over the circumstance, Anita Lama, the only certified female Nepali Prothetist Orthotist so far, is certain many of the Nepali public will have to be informed what the title actually refers to.
