KATHMANDU, Oct 10: In a significant development, political parties have come together to expedite the work related to transitional justice, aiming to complete it within a four-year timeframe.

Parliament has endorsed the government’s proposal to extend the terms of Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) and the Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons (CIEDP) for one more year with a possibility of further extension by one more year on Wednesday.

KATHMANDU, Feb 1: Two weeks after the government endorsed an ordinance clearing legal hurdles to extend the tenure of the Commission for Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons (CIEDP), the transitional justice body on Wednesday wrote to the government urging the latter to increase its term by one year. CIEDP's term will expire on February 9.
