ROLPA, Jan 7: The luxury of warm blankets in cold winter nights is a distant dream for those who are struggling to make ends meet.

Taiyab Hussain, 62, is from Bihar.  He owns a shop at Kamalpokhari. “I came to Kathmandu with my elder brother. He used to sew mattresses and blankets. I learnt the skills from him and started working with him.  We used to roam around Kathmandu sewing mattresses and blankets for a living,” he said.

KATHMANDU, Jan 24: The students of The British College (TBC) completed their third series of ‘Blanket for Humanity’ initiation where they managed to collect sufficient fund for the same. The students recently distributed more than 110 blankets at the premises of Durga Bhagwati Municipality Ward No 5, Badharwa, Rautahat, according to the press statement released by TBC.

LAHAN, Jan 20: The Khadga Municipality of Saptari on Friday distributed blankets to cold wave victims and also arranged firewood in all wards to get protected from cold snaps.  Municipality Mayor Hemayu Haq on Friday distributed 1,523 pieces of blankets to cold wave survivors through concerned wards' chairpersons.
