Taiyab Hussain, 62, is from Bihar.  He owns a shop at Kamalpokhari. “I came to Kathmandu with my elder brother. He used to sew mattresses and blankets. I learnt the skills from him and started working with him.  We used to roam around Kathmandu sewing mattresses and blankets for a living,” he said.

Amar Nachsahani, 35, repairs generators and water pumps. He is from Patna, Bihar. He arrived in Kathmandu three years ago. He traveled with his Nepali friends and ended up working here. “I have been traveling to different places of India and Nepal.  But this is the first time that I have stayed back in the same place for three years,” said Nachsahani. Nachsahani learned the repairing skills in Patna with the help of his friends. He started working at the age of 15.

The incident took place in Supaul district in Bihar. The girls are in critical condition. A mob of over two dozen people thrashed them with sticks after they caught a youth writing lewd comments on the hostel wall and scolded him.
