KATHMANDU, June 12: The issue that the government has not yet taken ownership of the report of the Balkrishna Panthi-led task force formed to find a long-term solution to the Bhutanese refugee problem has been raised in the court.

KATHMANDU, May 8: Former Additional Inspector General (AIG) of Nepal Police, Bigyan Raj Sharma has claimed that two people arrested by the police in connection with the fake Bhutanese refugees scam earlier were released under political pressure when Nepali Congress (NC) leader Bal Krishna Khand was serving as the home minister.

KATHMANDU, May 4: Police have so far made a few high-profile arrests involving a racket accused of sending Nepali nationals to the USA in the guise of Bhutanese refugees. So far, eight people have been detained for investigations into the alleged fraud of millions of rupees in the fake Bhutanese refugee scam.

KATHMANDU, April 20: Ten people have reported to the police citing they were fleeced of Rs 51.9 million in the pretext of taking them to America registering them as Bhutanese refugees.
